Restructuring Partner Pierre Dzakpasu, who is based in Singapore, was invited by Asian Legal Business to join its Asia Debt & Debt Restructuring Forum 2021 on 19 March for a panel discussion on “Navigating Indonesian Debt Restructuring in 2021”.
Pierre’s session provided an update on market trends in Indonesia in 2020 and the first quarter of 2021. The session also discussed the different paths that Indonesian companies are taking to the restructuring of their debts, including PKPU, or the suspension of debt payment obligations, and the growing use of offshore mechanisms.
Pierre moderated the session and participated as a panellist. Other panellists included the head of Indonesia at a leading financial and restructuring advisor, a director from one of the leading boutique advisors in Asia and a partner from a leading law firm specialising in the representation of borrowers and issuers.
