Mayer Brown partners Lisa Ferri and Gabriela Kennedy named to list of “Top 250 Women in IP 2020” by Managing Intellectual Property
Mayer Brown announced that Intellectual Property partners Lisa Ferri (New York) and Gabriela Kennedy (Hong Kong) have been recognized in the 2020 edition of Managing Intellectual Property (MIP)’s “Top 250 Women in IP,” a list of leading intellectual property women practitioners globally who have performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year.
A co-leader of the firm's global Intellectual Property practice, Ms. Ferri has been named to the list each year since its inception in 2013. She serves as lead trial and appellate counsel on behalf of high-profile companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, trying high-stakes cases in federal courts across the country and the International Trade Commission. She also advises companies and investors in the life sciences industry in transactions involving intellectual property, including mergers and acquisitions, collaborations, joint ventures and other strategic commercial arrangements.
Ms. Kennedy, a co-leader of Mayer Brown's global Intellectual Property practice and leader of the Asia IP and TMT group, handles the full spectrum of intellectual property work, from litigation to licensing, strategic advice and portfolio management. She advises extensively on technology and data protection issues in Hong Kong and throughout Asia, particularly in relation to business processing outsourcing, the cross-border transfer of data, data compliance, data breaches and cybersecurity issues.
According to the publication, the “Top 250 Women in IP” were selected from MIP’s general “IP Stars” list, the leading specialist guide to IP firms and practitioners worldwide, which includes information from thousands of firms, IP practitioners and their clients through interviews, emails and online surveys. MIP is a source of analysis on IP developments worldwide and it has been researching and ranking firms and attorneys since 1996.
