Mayer Brown advises Waterwheel Capital on €3.2 billion investment in Project Mexico HAPS

London — Mayer Brown represented Waterwheel Capital Management, an institutional investor with a focus on non-performing assets and the Greek market, on its investment in the mezzanine and junior notes of the Project Mexico HAPS securitization, a portfolio comprising of commercial and residential properties, auto-loans and corporate credits. 

The transaction was structured as a joint venture with doValue, a leading operator in Southern Europe in credit management and real estate services for banks and investors. 

The Mayer Brown team included: Corporate & Securities partners Kevin Sheridan and Javier Fierro (both New York), Tax partner Joon Pae (New York) and the team in Tokyo who assisted Waterwheel with a three jurisdiction structure required to facilitate the financing of the investment and Banking & Finance partner Dominic Griffiths and senior associate Robyn Llewellyn (both London) who assisted with negotiation and execution of the notes purchase agreement. Koutalidis (law firm) provided assistance on Greek law matters.
