Three Mayer Brown partners named 2023 “Litigation Trailblazers” by National Law Journal

Mayer Brown partners Reginald Goeke, Nancy Ross and Brantley Webb have been named “Litigation Trailblazers” by the National Law Journal (NLJ). The annual list recognizes litigators from across the nation who are “agents of change.”

Reginald, Nancy and Brantley were specifically recognized for securing a first-of-its-kind jury trial victory for Yale University in a lawsuit seeking more than $600 million in damages related to Yale’s retirement plan. The case involved allegations that Yale had violated ERISA by breaching its fiduciary duties, including its duty to prudently monitor the retirement plan’s recordkeeping fees, investment lineup, and investment share classes. After a month-long trial, the jury found that Yale had not breached any fiduciary duties with respect to any investment claim, and no loss to the plan on plaintiffs’ recordkeeping claims. Consequently, the plaintiffs were awarded zero dollars in damages.
