Tauil and Chequer Advogados assisted Eletrobras in joint venture with GoSolar to invest in floating solar distributed generation projects
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Eletrobras on forming a joint venture with GoSolar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goener, focusing on investments in distributed generation projects.
The projects involve the installation of floating solar power plants on the surface of reservoirs of hydropower plants owned by the Eletrobras Group (UHE Simplício/Anta in Rio de Janeiro and UHE Pedra, Complexo Paulo Afonso and UHE Sobradinho in Bahia).
The joint venture aims to combine Goener's expertise in developing distributed generation projects with the Eletrobras group's know-how in implementing energy generation projects and managing hydropower plant reservoirs.
The team was led by partners Débora Yanasse and Bruno Salzano, and senior associates Luisa Tortolano and Lucas Zamproni, from the Energy, Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practices. The transaction also involved contributions from counsel Isabella Giorgi, from the Antitrust practice, and associate Rebeca Liareno, from the Energy practice.
