Megan P. Fitzgerald

Megan Fitzgerald advises clients on a variety of complex intellectual property disputes with a particular focus on cutting-edge issues in copyright law.

Clients turn to Megan for assistance with all phases of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, drafting successful dispositive motions, coordinating with expert witnesses, and facilitating all aspects of the discovery process. She has particular interest and experience in the music industry, and she helps resolve disputes for a diverse array of clients ranging from major streaming services to a cosmetics company and a VPN provider.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Megan practiced litigation at another prominent global law firm, where she maintained a broad litigation practice and dedicated significant time to a major multidistrict antitrust litigation in which she represented a leading manufacturer and distributor of private label foods and beverages. Throughout her career, Megan has also maintained an active pro bono practice with a focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community. She has successfully petitioned for legal name changes for over two dozen transgender clients, and she worked with a team to successfully obtain asylum for a lesbian woman from Honduras.
