Matthias Jannausch

Senior associate Matthias Jannausch focuses on antitrust and competition law, white collar crime defense and novel compliance matters, representing clients in complex administrative and court proceedings. He routinely helps clients to conduct internal investigations and to set up and implement compliance programs. Matthias also advises on foreign direct investment (FDI) and foreign subsidies (FSR) matters.

Clients value his passion for developing a deep understanding of their business and his pragmatic style of advice. Matthias has worked with clients from a wide range of sectors, in particular multinational industrial, construction and chemical groups.

Represented and advised various clients in complex antitrust investigations and merger control proceedings before German and European competition authorities and courts, such as:

• Aurubis in a complex phase 2 EU merger control investigation in relation to the acquisition of Metallo Group (at previous firm).
• Avedon in German merger control proceedings concerning the acquisition of a shareholding in FormMed HealthCare AG.
• Generali in EU merger control proceedings concerning its co-investment transaction and JV interest in One Fen Court.
• German construction company in German antitrust appeal proceedings before the Higher Regional Court Düsseldorf.
