Andrew Sarraf is an Australian qualified senior associate.

Clients turn to him for his experience in acting for owners and contractors on construction, engineering, infrastructure and energy projects globally.  Andrew has represented clients in a wide range of high value and profile matters arising out of major projects in the Middle East, the USA, the UK, Asia and Australia.

Andrew’s practice focuses on international arbitration and he has acted for parties in disputes under the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, AAA, SCCA and ad hoc rules.  He has also handled matters in the English High Court including the Commercial Court and TCC and the Australian High Court, Federal Court and the Supreme Courts of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. 

Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2023, Andrew worked at a leading US disputes firm in London.

As well as English, Andrew is fluent in spoken and written Arabic.

  • Representing a large construction company in respect of various claims (including disruption, variations and extensions of time) in relation to a large infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia.
  • Representing a large construction company in an Omani law governed ICC arbitration.
  • Acting for the Owner in an ongoing series of ICC arbitrations relating to the design and construction of a major maritime project in Central America.
  • Acting for a large Asian construction company in respect to ongoing arbitrations being conducted pursuant to the SCCA Rules, relating to the supply of various infrastructure items.
  • Representing a state-owned entity in a large-scale multi-billion pound, London seated, Qatari law governed, arbitration (ICC Rules) in respect of the construction of a large hospital in Doha, Qatar.*
