London — Mayer Brown represented EMK Capital and its Israeli-based portfolio company, Bright Data, on the refinancing of its existing debt facilities and a dividend recapitalisation with a secured term facility provided by Silicon Valley Bank and Investec Bank.
Bright Data (previously Luminati) is the world's #1 web data platform for businesses. From data collection infrastructure to ready-made datasets, Bright Data enables leading enterprises to access the public web data they need. EMK acquired control of the business in 2017.
The transaction is one of a number of Israeli financings that Mayer Brown have advised on in the last couple of years, making it one of the go-to law firms in the London market able to structure and execute financings of private-equity owned Israeli businesses.
The Mayer Brown team was led by Banking & Finance partner Stuart Brinkworth (London) and included partner Beth Vogel (Chicago), senior associate Iel Mirasol (London), associate Lethabo Bosoga (London), trainee solicitor Cail Wyn Evans (London), paralegal Esther A. Trujillo (Chicago) and Tax partner Matthew Mortimer (London). Israeli firm Meitar provided Israeli law advice on the deal.
