Mayer Brown advises on sale of majority stake in Theobald Software

Düsseldorf/Frankfurt am Main – Mayer Brown has advised Patrick Theobald on the sale of a majority stake in Theobald Software GmbH to Bregal Unternehmerkapital. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Theobald Software GmbH, founded by Patrick Theobald in 2004 and headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is one of the leading providers of connectivity software. With approximately 40 employees across three subsidiaries in the USA and Asia, Theobald Software supports more than 3,500 customers worldwide in the development and marketing of software solutions.
Bregal Unternehmerkapital is a family business established over generations, whose funds invest in medium-sized companies from a wide range of sectors in Europe. It targets market leaders and "hidden champions" with strong management teams and growth potential.
Patrick Theobald will retain a significant stake in the company and will continue to support the business with his technical expertise. The partnership will further Theobald Software GmbH's growth into new markets.
