Mayer Brown is pleased to announce that partners Andrew Pincus and Elizabeth Espín Stern served as honorary co-chairs of Legal Aid DC’s 2023 Making Justice Real Campaign, supporting the organization in another record-breaking year. Thanks to the generosity of those at Mayer Brown and elsewhere, the campaign raised $3.49 million—beating its goal by roughly $95,000 and topping the previous record set just last year.

Mayer Brown surpassed its own dollar goal by a third, raising $132,299 with a 75% participation rate. It also topped its peer firms of similar size by a margin of more than $50,000.

“As lawyers, we understand the importance of providing everyone in our community with the ability to access justice,” said Andy. “By working together for this very worthy cause, we are helping to ensure that the resources for legal services are there for those in our community who are most in need.”

Added Liz, “The generosity and support of so many has such a real impact. Just $64, for example, lets Legal Aid train vulnerable residents on their voting rights, and $110 helps secure a work permit for an immigrant seeking a job. Andy and I are humbled by the selfless giving of so many who understand our special obligation to give voice to those who, without adequate representation. would otherwise go voiceless.”

With the money it raised, Mayer Brown became just the 10th law firm ever to raise at least $100,000 for the Making Justice Real Campaign, and the sixth to raise at least $125,000.
