Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises Eco135 on structuring a new project finance investment with BNDES involvement
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Eco135 Concessionária de Rodovias, a company of the EcoRodovias group, in structuring a new project finance investment for the construction, maintenance, monitoring, conservation, improvement, expansion, and management of the BR-135, MG-231, and LMG-754 highways, which extend from Curvelo to Montes Claros in Minas Gerais.
The transaction included the issuance of infrastructure debentures by Eco135, totaling R$ 520 million, with the offering led by BNDES and Bradesco BBI. This debentures issuance complements Eco135’s existing financing contracted with BNDES under the FINEM modality, which included, among other things, the sharing of project guarantees between the two transactions. It is worth noting that this offering stands out as one of the first deals in which the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) acted as a coordinator, as part of the "BNDES Serviços Coordenação em Ofertas Públicas" program.
The team was led by partners Luis Montes and Carlos Motta and included associates Beatriz Lavigne, Camila Spinola, and Giuliana Torelli.
