Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Shout-out to Mayer Brown partners Stanley Parzen and Greg Deis and associate Andrew Spadafora who helped accounting client Baker Tilly US beat back a lawsuit in Minnesota state court stemming from its audit of energy company Aspirity. After previously dismissing all claims based on the purchase of Aspirity securities, Hennepin County District Court Judge Kristin Siegesmund last week granted summary judgment to Baker Tilly on the remaining “holder” claims, finding them both time-barred and unrecognized under Minnesota law.
