Alexandre Arlota has more than 20 years of experience and clients seek his advice on project development and strategic contracts in the infrastructure and energy sectors. He stands out for his experience in negotiations involving energy, oil and gas, shipbuilding, logistics (airports, railways, ports, highways, urban mobility), steelmaking, mining, and sanitation.

He has built his career in renowned law firms in Brazil and abroad, leading multiple award-winning “Deal of the Year” transactions with notable involvement in emerging markets such as Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

Alexandre has also developed a solid academic career, having been a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), as well as the Coordinator of postgraduate courses at the University of São Paulo (USP). He is the author of acclaimed works in the legal field, frequently cited by courts and regulators.

  • Energy generation projects: Participated in major projects such as the Angra 3 nuclear power plant (+R$ 100 billion, BNDES), GNA I and II (3GW, R$ 13 billion), Barcarena I and II (2.3GW, R$ 12 billion), Porto de Sergipe (1.5GW, R$ 6.5 billion), Marlim Azul (565MW, R$ 4 billion), Santo Antônio hydroelectric plant (3.5GW), and Sinop hydroelectric plant (402MW).
  • Gas projects: Key roles in projects such as Rovuma Basin natural gas facilities (Mozambique), Petrobras’s sale of its 2,000 km NTS pipeline network (US$ 5.2 billion), regasification terminals and hubs in Santos and Cubatão (R$ 4 billion), and several pipeline operations.
  • E&P projects: Assisted in Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s sale of stakes in an 18-pipeline network and long-term ship-or-pay oil contracts.
  • FPSO projects and subsea systems: Worked on Bacalhau (Brazil’s largest oil and gas production unit), Gato do Mato 1 and 2, and others.
  • Energy transmission projects: Contributed to projects exceeding 10,000 km of transmission lines.
  • Wind and solar projects: Handled projects in Brazil, Chile, and Colombia, totaling over 10GW in capacity.
  • Bioenergy projects: Played a role in mergers and greenfield projects such as BP Bunge Bioenergia and the world’s largest biorefinery (R$ 16 billion).
