Ger regularly represents issuers, underwriters, conduits, banks, hedge funds, start-ups and other finance companies in the securitization (or sale) of consumer, insurance premium finance and corporate receivables; mortgages, installment sales contracts, small business, consumer and other loans; equipment, automobile and other leases; and software licenses, movie rights, property tax liens, troubled debt and other esoteric assets. Ger also assists clients with the development of commercial paper programs, CDOs/CLOs, capital call facilities, BDC financing, partner bank programs and other complex structured finance transactions. During the credit crisis, Ger worked extensively on a number of government bailout programs including the Master Liquidity Enhancement Conduit (MLEC), sponsored by the US Treasury, and Straight-A Funding (the student loan bailout conduit), sponsored by the US Department of Education, and worked on a variety of transactions under the Term Asset-Backed Loan Facility (TALF) program. In 2002, he was named one of the “40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch.” He also helped structure, negotiate and document the 2013 IFLR Securitization of the Year.
Ger joined Mayer Brown’s Chicago office in 1996. He had previously practiced at two other large corporate law firms in Chicago.
