Claudia advises her clients with regulatory guidance, contractual and transactional advice, as well as dispute resolution support, with a particular focus on energy and telecommunications. Moreover, Claudia has relevant experience in the creation, assessment, and implementation of compliance programs for financial institutions to ensure adherence to legal standards. In the financial area, Claudia has played an important role in facilitating complex cross-border financing arrangements, including both secured and unsecured transactions, as well as SME lending operations. Claudia also has experience in project finance transactions with clients involved in both renewable and conventional energy, as well as other infrastructure initiatives. Her recent role as counsel to lenders in the syndicated financing of fuel storage projects across Mexico showcases her influence on pivotal industry advancements.

In addition to her practical achievements, Claudia has an impressive academic background, having worked as a research fellow with Dr. Nuria González Martín, a renowned International Private Law author and researcher at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), as well as a visiting fellow at Stanford University.

• X-Elio, as sponsor, in a USD100 million financing package for the construction and maintenance of a 200MWp photovoltaic solar plant, located in Sonora, which was awarded a PPA under the new power auctions. Furthermore, we represented the sponsor in the refinancing of such plant, including assistance in project documents, financing documents and Mexican securities; as well as in the sale of 100% equity interest in its Mexican subsidiary for USD 146 million.
• X-Elio, as sponsor, in a USD 17.2 million financing package for the construction and maintenance of a 70MWp photovoltaic solar plant, located in Veracruz, which was awarded a PPA under the new power auctions. Furthermore, we represented the sponsor in the refinancing of such plant, including assistance in project documents, financing documents and Mexican securities; as well as in the sale of 100% equity interest in its Mexican subsidiary for USD 46 million.
• BAS Projects Corporation, a Spanish developer and sponsor of renewable power generation projects, in the sale of a 75% interest in two operating photovoltaic generation plants located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, with an aggregate capacity of 67MW to Mexico Infrastructure Partners, a Mexican investment fund that actively participates in the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects. The deal involved the purchase of stock and the granting of subordinated loans to the Projects’ SPVs by the acquirer, from where funds were used to pay capital and interests on a prior loan granted by BAS as its prior parent.
• Energía Sierra Juárez, and Energia Sierra Juarez U.S (affiliates of Sempra Energy and IENova) in connection with a USD 240 million construction and term loan facility and four letter of credit facilities arranged by a club of international commercial and development banks. The project comprises the development, construction, operation and maintenance of an approximately 155.1-MW wind farm located in the Sierra de Juarez Mountains in Baja California, Mexico.
• Siemens Financial Services, in the acquisition of 49% of the equity interests of 2 Project Companies from EDF Energies Nouvelles S.A. Project Companies: Eolica de Oaxaca I, a 252 MW wind Project located in Oaxaca, Mexico and Eolica de Oaxaca II, a 49.9 MW wind Project also located in Oaxaca, Mexico.
