Nicholas J. Ronaldson has a balanced IP litigation and transactional practice.

Nicholas has broad litigation experience spanning federal district court cases, inter partes review proceedings, and cases before the International Trade Commission. Nicholas is experienced in all aspects of arbitration, from discovery and trial preparation to trial before a three-judge panel.

Nicholas’ legal writing skills are bolstered by his prior experience working for several judges. He has served as an extern for the Honorable Joan B. Gottschall at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, for the Honorable Chief Justice Anne M. Burke at the Illinois Supreme Court, and for the Honorable Robert E. Gordon at the Illinois Appellate Court. He has also served as an extern at the United States Attorney’s Office.

In addition, Nicholas has experience with due diligence for large scale IP transactions involving IP acquisition and sales. He is involved in advertising counseling, trademark and patent prosecution, and copyright and trademark licensing and counseling.

While in law school, Nicholas worked in the Bluhm Legal Clinic and as an Executive Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. He also received the CALI award for earning the highest grade in Civil Procedure.

Nicholas has an active pro bono practice involving both IP litigation, transactions, and violations of the Eighth Amendment. He is also a member of the American Homebrewers Association.
