Matthew J.D. Downer

Matthew Downer is a Banking & Finance associate in Mayer Brown's Charlotte office. His practice centers on fund finance and representing lenders in negotiating and documenting subscription credit facilities to private equity and real estate funds. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Matthew was a corporate and securities associate in the Toronto office of an international law firm.

Matthew graduated with dual Canadian/American JDs from the University of Ottawa and Michigan State University College of Law, respectively, where he served as an editor for the Michigan State University College of Law International Law Review. He earned his BA from Dalhousie University.
