Marcel Hörauf focuses his practice on banking and financial services regulatory law, capital markets law and on compliance and sanction matters. His practice includes, in particular:

M&A in the financial sector
Marketing of securities and licensing issues
OTC derivatives, CCP clearing and financial market infrastructure topics
Payment services and outsourcing
Digitalization and innovation projects, DLT und Fintech

Synthetic risk transfers, capital requirements and credit risk mitigation techniques under the CRR
Banking recovery & resolution
Insurance supervisory law issues, in particular the marketing of insurance products and licensing requirements
Internal investigations and sanction proceedings

His advisory practice also focuses on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) regulatory developments.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Marcel worked for Deutsche Börse (German Stock Exchange) and another leading international law firm for several years.
